If I had my career to do all over again - one of the things I would have considered is sports photography. I'm way too old to start that career now - so I get my buzz by shooting my youngest son's baseball and football games. Even though I'm just shooting for myself (and some other parents), I still get way to anxious about "getting a great shot." It's very difficult, but I've improved a great deal over the last year. Now, I just need one of those sweet, fast 300mm lenses. Someday. Until then I'll keep shooting with my 70-200mm and cropping to the action. Below are several shots of my son in the final two games of his freshman season at Free State High School.
