sucker hole

I made a quick trip to Emporia and the Flint Hills several weeks ago to see my niece play in the State basketball tourney. It was a crappy day - but the sun poked through the clouds for a couple shots. I didn't notice the "hole" in the clouds until I looked at the image when I got back. Looking forward to Spring in the Flint Hills.

A friend of mine who shoots in Alaska says they call those "sucker holes" up north because of the way they can raise your hopes that the sky is clearing and then they close right back up.

I like that a lot. I love new words - so I changed my post title. I've been in that situation many times - just glad I have a word for it now. Tell you buddy thanks.
